Most of my work in visual effects has been based around Rocket League.
One of the main reasons is because it has excellent support for cinematics, and experimentation.

Breakdown  #1 Description..:
I went into this scene without knowing what I wanted to do, so this evolved from me adding ideas onto one another, and all in all I think it turned out pretty well!
*Everything in the scene is being tracked by a 3D camera within After Effects!*
I started off by just making the subjects in a pure black environment by just creating black solids and placing them over the walls. I then created a transparent splodge/impact where the car had hit the ball to keep some of the original environment within the scene. I then created some glitch like particles which with the CC only were visible in the areas around the glow of the subjects. Then to add some speed and atmosphere I added some other smaller particles that were flying backwards throughout the show. Then to finish it off I added some lens flare overlays to make it seem more like it was coming from a camera, making it more immersive and "real"

Breakdown  #2 description:
For this specific scene I wanted to try to go for an underwater theme while sticking to the music and keeping it light hearted.
*Everything in the scene is being tracked by a 3D camera within After Effects!
I did this by creating the illusion of the camera being underwater by making the edges of the pitch a darker blue than above the pitch, as well as creating a water like displacement map to make the surface of the water. I then added some caustics to the floor to make it look like the light is reacting with the water. Then I added some smaller details, such as the pipe which was placed in the scene using Element 3D, and was blended by using drop shadow and deep glow. I then added some bubbles coming from the pipe by using Particular to make it more interesting. Finally I added some atmospheric clouds to make the water seem a bit more cloudier than just fully clear.
