Wheels - Foo Fighters | One of my toughest songs to record due to the mix between acoustic and electric guitars. How did I overcome this?

How Do I record my Covers?
Everything you hear these video's is coming from me and whatever wacky microphone set up I have got! For this cover in particular I was trying out some new Beyerdynamic microphones. This included the Opus 88 and Opus 87 placed on the toms as well as the 87 being used as a snare bottom to get some of the snare wire rattle.
I was also using Opus 53's as overheads. I also used this microphone in image 2 with the acoustic guitar. I am very impressed with this microphone I must say! I know basically nothing about microphones and I am no audiophile, however the Opus 53 created such a nice sound when recording the frets on the acoustic. So much detail and clarity came out of this tiny, 50 gram microphone. Finally an Opus 57 was used on the kick as a kick in mic.

The Acoustic Recordings.
This is one of the toughest thing to do in my opinion. As I don't own a big studio or studio equipment most of my electric guitars are tracked as DI into my DAW which are then run through a simple amp simulation. However with acoustics you have to record them yourself. The set up I went with was a close sm57 close to the strumming hand and porthole. This got most of the attack and pick sounds for the song. Then I put the condenser (Opus 53) facing upwards towards the head of the guitar. This got the string sounds and the room, as well as sliding sounds.
